Why choose Enlightened Equitation?
Heather Moffett (founder of EE) has devoted her life's work to ciphening through the jargon and making things clearer for the rider to understand. Coupled with a strong desire to make life much more comfortable for the horse and rider, makes EE a great company to work with and promote.
I am a Fhoenix Saddle Agent and am trained to fit and supply the Fhoenix FA saddles. The saddles are available in dressage and GP styles. They do not have a full tree - the cantle is the solid part of the saddle. The Fhoenix is flexible and many horses go much better in a flexible saddle as this allows them to move more freely. If you ride western and english, the Fhoenix is a great saddle to have as it will mould to your horse as it changes shape, inbetween riding the different styles.
In 2008 I hope to be a qualified EETT Level 1 which means I will be able to teach (taken from the EE website):
"Level 1 - This is where the foundations, good or bad are laid, and the lower level riders are probably the most important of all. Get the basics right, and you have foundations on which to build. So what are the basics? Development of a deep, elegant Classical Seat, correct biomechanical interaction of horse and rider so that both move together as one unit, ability to apply the aids so that they are clear to the horse, not obvious to the onlooker. In many cases, the pupils will have long established faults, so these will be covered in all of their many forms, and detailed explanations given of how to spot and correct these deviations. Instruction will be given in how to use the Equisimulators to correct faults and also to teach beginners in an amazingly short time. Lunging the rider, and teaching the first stages of ‘feel’ will also be covered."
