The Bit has a 5" & 5 1/2" snaffle mouthpiece. The cheek and 'D' rings are stainless steel. The cheek rings float independent of each other and the 'D' rings, so the cheek rings will always maintain the same position relative to the side of the horse's head and can not 'twist' or dig into the side of the mouth. The reins attach to the floating 'D' rings. The cheek rings spread the pressure over a larger area around the corners of the mouth and prevent the 'pinch' that a standard 'O' ring snaffle bit produces by squeezing the lips between the bars of the jaw and the bit itself when rein pressure is applied.
